lots of things have happened, and as all of you know i have the propensity to just divulge them in a convoluted stream of consciousness...this post will be no exception.
i should start with new years, when i went to atlanta with some pretty awesome people, and did the following things: went to my first bowl game, survived the peach drop and wandering around for an hour afterward, visited the world of coke (lalalalala), spent numerous hours listening to semi-charmed kinda life in a car, lost my voice, shared every meal as a collective, and made some excellent friends.
then i came back, voiceless, was home for about 9 hours, and drove to charlottesville to take a jterm on russian politics. looking back on that class now, i vividly remember the following topics: the ashkenazi jews' cultural center was vilnius, georgia is kinda a big deal in terms of the former soviet republics, and that conflict arises in the world because everyone always thinks they're right. also orthodoxy was adopted by the russians in 988 ad over judaism bc vladimir wanted to eat pork, and over islam bc he wanted to drink.
i celebrated my birthday with the most awkward jello shot in the history of...well...history. this is not an exaggeration.
my dad moved to guam. yup. it happened. guam. only 22 hours travel time away.
my little got a little...proudest moment of my srat life.
i really like my spanish classes - which is somewhat comical because i feel that i spend an inordinate amount of time complaining about writing spanish papers. but this semester the bane of my existence is a class on brazilian history. i didn't know that understanding the intricacies of hegel and max weber were paramount to studying slave rebellions and independence from portugal. but i'm workin' on it, i will liberate my thoughts like the brazilians liberated themselves (sorta) in 1822. and 1851(ish).
aside from all this, there isn't much left to say. which should mean something because i always have something to say. cheers.
